This piece is a celebration of the powerful and transformative nature of women embodied by the intricate snake tattoo on her right arm.
Shedding the old to create a clear path for the new.
Surrounding Ayame are vibrant birds of paradise flowers and a delicate lily. On her shoulder sits a blue parrot watching and protecting over her. This majestic bird represents wisdom and its position is facing away from the viewer shows its unwavering loyalty to the Ayame. It is also reminding her “ to leave the past behind”. A regal leopard is peering through the greenery watching over Ayame. He is a reminder to keep moving forwards.
The yellow background represents the sun and the white bold halo symbolises the moon. They are seen surrounding Ayame to symbolise the balance of light and dark.
This painting is a testament to my love of nature and the transformations we all go through at different stages of our lives.
